Dan McCabe

Over the last 30 years Dan McCabe has honed his skills and developed a solid base of experience in electrical and general contracting as well as drafting several innovative and practical designs for commercial buildings and homes.  His extensive background in PLC, motor controls and generators has also given him the opportunity to apply these drafting skills to detailed schematics and drawings utilized in many active sites today.

Early in his career, while working as a general contractor, he constructed several beautiful custom homes, commercial buildings and apartment complexes as well as designing and building a 26-space mobile home park which included water, sewer, and electrical services.

Dan is respected and experienced in all construction fields, but early on specialized in the electrical field due to his deep interest in this area.  Dan focused on and completed his apprenticeship requirements and received journeyman status in electrical, carpentry and glazing. As a Journeyman Electrician he worked as an electrician for several large electrical contractors before becoming an Electrical General Foreman on the Dehydration Project in Big Piney, WY, where he coordinated and supervised seven foremen and 180 men.

He is also highly experienced in commercial and residential wiring and design.  Along with his deep experience with residential and commercial electrical work, Mr. McCabe has worked on some of the largest wind power installations in the state of Oregon. Recently, Mr. McCabe’s excellent work was recognized by Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) of Oregon who gave him the Distinguished Service Award in 2008.

Understanding the need to provide increased resiliency in home and commercial installations, Mr. McCabe led the industry by becoming one of the earliest and largest dealers of home standby Generac generators in the State of Oregon. Understanding the increased need for home safety and commercial compliance required by ever increasing electrical demands, Mr. McCabe developed the innovative “YES” program to ensure continued electrical safety.
Dan actively serves the industry on the JATC (Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee). As a recognized electrical expert Mr. McCabe has worked for the past decade as an Oregon Instructor for JATC, providing classroom training in electrical theory and National Electrical Code compliance.
